Bacteria, Parasites, Detected in Raw Pet Foods!!

This is what we are getting briefed on regularly these days.  We are seeing almost weekly recalls for raw pet food diets here in the United States for this reason.   Please be wise when deciding on the diet for your beloved pets.

“An analysis of 35 commercial raw pet foods available in the Netherlands found listeria in 15, E. coli in eight, salmonella in seven, sarcocystis parasites in eight and Toxoplasma gondii in two. Some of the bacteria detected were antibiotic-resistant, and the researchers wrote in Vet Record that raw meat pet food “could therefore pose a serious risk to both animal health and public health — not only because infections with these bacteria are difficult to treat, but also because of the potential of it contributing to a more widespread occurrence of such bacteria.”
